PRESS: MTS issues app GoGym to retail fitness services to users
MOSCOW, Jun 29 (PRIME) -- Russian mobile operator MTS has released application GoGym allowing users to visit fitness clubs and gyms paying per minute or session without buying a season ticket, business daily Vedomosti reported on Tuesday.
A minute of workout without a trainer costs from 3 rubles, and a group class costs from 400 rubles, according to the service’s description.
This is the first application to pay for fitness as a part of large Russian ecosystems, MTS said. Sberbank, Mail.ru Group or Yandex do not have such offers, the daily reported.
One of the project’s heads David Dodevsky said MTS mainly works with fitness clubs of Moscow and the Moscow Region, but plans expansion in other regions.
MTS monetizes the idea by splitting incomes from the clients using the application. On the average, MTS gets 27% of payment for fitness services, Dodevsky said.
